Honoring Our Youngest (And Cutest) Helpers!
Across our community, our youngest neighbors are proving that you don’t need a toolbox to build a more joyful world, and that kindness has no age limit. It always warms our clients’ hearts to receive their gifts.
Transitional Kindergarten students at Roosevelt Elementary delivered cheerful artwork that now brightens senior dining tables. At Saint Felicitas, fourth graders laminated Halloween placemats and crafted over 50 holiday cards—a tradition spanning several years. Their careful handprints and glitter-dusted signatures tell seniors they are remembered.
Older kids also love to step up. Students from Washington High School and The Stratford School contributed 231 holiday cards, while Washington’s Special Education Program partnered with Meals on Wheels of Alameda County to assemble goodie bags.
These young volunteers teach us that helping isn’t about capacity—it’s about willingness. Everybody in our community has potential to help, whether through a painted pumpkin or a handwritten note.
If you know a group of youngsters eager to spread cheer, please contact our volunteer department at volunteer@sosmow.org. Together, we’re raising a generation that knows how to care.
