Answer the Call to Volunteer All Year Long
The value our volunteers bring to SOS cannot be measured—only felt. In every meal packed, every route driven and every door opened, we witness the generosity of neighbors who choose to show up. We are profoundly grateful for the many groups and individuals who support us during the busy holiday season. At that time of year, neighbors in need are top-of-mind, and our community responds with remarkable heart.
What some may not realize is that we tend to see a significant drop-off in volunteering during January and February. Yet the need for meals does not decline after the decorations come down. Our seniors rely on us every single day, and we rely on volunteers to help us meet that demand year-round.
We warmly invite those who have never considered volunteering in the “off-season” to reach out to our team. Opportunities abound. Community and corporate groups are welcome to join us for three- to four-hour days of service, hosted most weekday mornings. Help is needed in our packing warehouse and on our food production line. Driving opportunities are also available for groups with members willing to undergo driver training. Individuals may volunteer regularly as onsite helpers or drivers, and administrative roles are well-suited for those with mobility challenges. We also cherish hosting school groups and take great joy in creating positive volunteering experiences for young people.
